摘要: SYNOPSIS The ethylene-co-glycidyl methacrylate (EG) copolymer is an efficient reactive compatibilizer for polymer blends of poly(buty1ene terephthalate) (PBT) and polypropylene (PP). During melt processing, the epoxy functional group EG can react with PBT carboxylic acid and/or hydroxyl terminal groups at interface to form various EG-gPBT copolymers. These in situ formed grafted copolymers tend concentrate along reduce interfacial tension result finer phase domains. Higher glycidyl (GMA) content or a higher quantity blend results better compatibilized terms domains, viscosity, mechanical properties. presence only 50 ppm catalyst (ethyltriphenyl phosphonium bromide) further improves compatibility substantially. 0 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
