Statistical Patterns in Written Language

摘要: Quantitative linguistics has been allowed, in the last few decades, within admittedly blurry boundaries of field complex systems. A growing host applied mathematicians and statistical physicists devote their efforts to disclose regularities, correlations, patterns, structural properties language streams, using techniques borrowed from statistics information theory. Overall, results can still be categorized as modest, but prospects are promising: medium- long-range features organization human -which beyond scope traditional linguistics- have already emerged this kind analysis continue reported, contributing a new perspective our understanding most communication system.
