摘要: This article brings together insights from translation studies, book history and technology studies in order to examine the media contexts of oral, scribal, print screen culture. The shift between these cultures has arguably been result diverse technological innovations, with each altering ways which spoken/written word came be recorded received. As a result, practices writing reading have varied historically accordance material carriers available for storage retrieval information. If technologies (from human body computer) make difference reading, as historians demonstrated, then surely same also made translation. I therefore ask what role played translation, kinds can associated different cultures.
