摘要: The world shorelines maps published in 1967 and 1981 show the African continent with emerged Strandlines dated at 2500–6000 years B.P. about 120.000 Currently, we are striving for better precision (recognition and) definition of Holocene shorelines; contrast, significance many Pleistocene terraces is being reassessed. Regions several reproducible radiometric dates relatively few: Morocco to northern Senegal, Angola South Africa, Madagascar, Mascarene Seychelles island group some Red Sea coasts. These coasts sites positive epeirogenic movements which rate cause more or less fully documented. Atlantic coast between southern Senegal does not have any marine shorelevels, Indian Ocean still unexplored. In general, pre-Holocene regression correlates a dry period tropical equatorial latitudes, but corresponds fluvial periods subtropical region as far south Swakopmund Namibia, north latitude Hoggar. sequence coastal environments becoming known increasing Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, Gabon Congo. Recent fossil special targets interest mineral resource exploration because their close relationship both constituents physical forces responsible accumulation these minerals. Occurrences heavy minerals, associated littoral features (shoreface, shore dune), displayed on West Gabon-Congo Senegal-Mauritania, South-Africa shelf Mozambique. Generally, human settlement coincided proximity during high sea levels. Erosion progradation Late vary considerably along coast; they involve combination hydrologic, meteorologic oceanographic factors broad slow fluctuations local eustatic character.
