摘要: Between 1983 and 1993, 102 patients with giant cell tumor of bone were treated at three institutions. Sixteen (15.9%) presented already having had local recurrence. All thorough curettage the tumor, burr drilling inner walls, cryotherapy by direct pour technique using liquid nitrogen. The average followup was 6.5 years (range, 4-15 years). rate recurrence in 86 primarily cryosurgery 2.3% (two patients), overall 7.9% (eight patients). Six these cured two underwent resection. Overall, 100 cryosurgery. Complications associated included six (5.9%) pathologic fractures, (2.9%) cases partial skin necrosis, (1.9%) significant degenerative changes. Overall function good to excellent 94 (92.2%), moderate seven (6.9%), poor one patient (0.9%). Cryosurgery has advantages joint preservation, functional outcome, low when compared other preservation procedures. For reasons, it is recommended as an adjuvant for most tumors bone.
