摘要: No large-scale epidemiologic study to investigate how sex and age affect fatal trauma risk from the same impact has been possible previously because large numbers of people are rarely subject sufficiently similar major physical insults. This paper describes such a study, made by two recent developments: first, availability data file, Fatal Accident Reporting System, which gives information on more than one third million fatally injured in traffic crashes; second, new technique, double-pair comparison method, which, focusing vehicles containing occupants, at least whom is killed, allows appropriate inferences be data. Fatality versus was determined for ten categories vehicle occupants (unbelted car drivers, helmeted motorcycle passengers, etc.). Similar effects were found different indicating that basic physiologic response (not confined fatalities) being measured. It fatality about 25% greater females aged males 15 45 years. At younger older ages risk. For both sexes, 20 70 it three times what 20.
