摘要: Purpose Most scholars acknowledge the role of firm-stakeholder relationship for enabling corporate sustainability (CS), but existing literature tends to apply a superficial understanding interaction. Thus, purpose this paper is advance knowledge by challenging classical stakeholder theory with fundamental insights from IMP perspective, which in turn leads deeper conceptualization interactive CS. Design/methodology/approach A typology framework developed through an abductive research design grounded concepts actors, resources, and activities. The authors illustrate potential longitudinal case study. empirical revolves around initiative recycling plastic material partly beforehand established supply chain, study reveals three main findings. Findings First, solutions can result major technological challenges. For example, using recycled jeopardize industrial quality standards. Second, third-party stakeholders represent critical competence that remedy Finally, R&D projects are important means developing relationships. Research limitations/implications The introduces CS debate, illuminate emerging on tensions paradoxes related phenomena. Further needed non-business actors as capacity generators social environmental change traditional business networks. Practical implications The proposed be used analyze why some (individuals groups) into contributing inter-organizational relationships, while others remain latent. Originality/value This illustrates usefulness actor bonds, resource ties activity links explanatory concepts. Moreover, relationships terms collaboration networks change, overlooked current debates.
