摘要: This paper analyses the impacts of trade and policy on tropical deforestation. Distinctions are made between different costs benefits pertaining to forest use, their distribution natural vis-a-vis industrial features. It is emphasized that management determined by incentives confront relevant actors, interdependent behavior. International not a major cause deforestation, barriers log exports worsen situation. While liberalization consumer action argued have potential for favorable through pressure institutional reform, socially optimal forests requires presently non-commercial values be taken into account.
