摘要: Abstract A procedure is described for the direct determination of methyl derivatives basic amino acids in total acid hydrolyzates proteins by use a Beckman analyzer operated high sensitivity mode with automatic integration. The conditions permit separation ornithine, lysine, 5-hydroxylysine, Ne-monomethyllysine, Ne-dimethyllysine, histidine, Nτ-methylhistidine, ammonia, methylamine, Ng,Ng-dimethylarginine, Ng,N'g-dimethylarginine, Ng-monomethylarginine, and arginine. was used to survey purified myelin prepared from wide variety species their contents methylated acids. Of latter only Ng,N'g-dimethylarginine Ng-monomethylarginine were present. proportions two methylarginines, as well fraction arginine which they comprise varied widely depending upon source. No detected hydrolyzate frog protein; no methylarginines found that carp. Hydrolyzates fractions contaminating had been removed turtle protein during its purification contain appreciable quantities Ng,Ng-dimethylarginine.
