摘要: In August 2015, Malaysia experienced an outbreak of acute respiratory disease in racehorses. Clinical signs observed were consistent with equine influenza (EI) infection. The index cases horses recently imported from New Zealand. Rapid control measures, including temporary cancellation racing, implemented to minimize the impact outbreak. By November, was resolved, and movement restrictions lifted. aim this study confirm clinical diagnosis characterize causal virus. A pan-reactive type real-time RT-PCR used for confirmatory diagnosis. Antigenic characterization by haemagglutinin inhibition using a panel specific ferret antisera indicated that virus belonged clade 1 H3N8 Florida sub-lineage. genetic achieved whole genome sequencing positive nasal swabs clinically affected animals. Pylogenetic analysis (HA) neuraminidase (NA) genes demonstrated ≥99% homology several EI strains had circulated USA Japan. antigenic did not indicate current World Organisation Animal Health (OIE) recommendations vaccine composition required modification.
