摘要: Recurrent Vulvovaginal Infections (RVVI) is common problem associated with women of reproductive age. The function and deleterious effect Mannose Binding Lectin 2 (MBL2) polymorphisms are reported to be various diseases. However, the role MBL2 promoter gene their combined structural variant along Serum (sMBL) levels in RVVI has not been investigated. study included 258 cases 203 age matched healthy controls. These were investigated for distribution codon 54 by Amplification Refractory Mutation System-Polymerase Chain Reaction (ARMS-PCR). sMBL quantified Enzyme Linked Immnosorbent Assay (ELISA). frequency X allele its genotypes was significantly high than controls conferring risk towards types (p<0.05). HXPA (OR; 2.0), LXQB 1.43) haplotypes susceptibility while haplotype LYQB protected against 0.58), Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) 0.27) Mixed (MI) 0.62) observed Mean low RVVI, BV, Candidiasis (VVC) MI compared VVC patient showed mean segregated based on significant difference different groups findings present suggested that Y/X polymorphism either it or MI. Thus MBL deficiency may contribute decreased efficiency clearing pathogens. Hence, specific measures like administration purified recombinant might decrease incidence vaginal infections recurrences more-effective treatment.
