摘要: Introduction: Muscle magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an innovative tool for exploring focal neuropathies. However, its usefulness in mild, proximal, or chronic lesions, when electromyography (EMG), the current “gold standard” sensitivity inadequate, has yet to be studied. Methods: Clinical, MRI, and EMG examinations were performed 113 muscles of 17 consecutive patients with clinically diagnosed lower limb The specificity MRI evaluated relation disease duration, severity, anatomical location. Results: was highly sensitive detection denervated muscle, and, unlike EMG, did not decrease regardless location, severity neuropathy. Five false positives noted, including three thigh muscles. Conclusions: alternative clinical diagnoses it also seems prone false-positive results, particularly proximal Nerve, 2012
