摘要: The authors recently have reported the presence of a nongonadotropic polypeptide factor in rat testicular interstitial fluid that can exert marked stimulatory effects on Leydig cell testosterone production. To assess potential physiologic significance this factor, its effective levels been investigated response to treatments either markedly reduce concentrations (anti-LH treatment; transient or chronic experimental cryptorchidism; destruction cells with ethane dimethanesulphonate) significantly elevate by injection hCG. possible relationship between and changes weight, serum LH FSH, volume also were monitored. When decreased 75 99% acutely (5-72 hours) chronically (20-75 days), there was an accompanying increase (P less than 0.001) factor(s), as determined ability charcoal-stripped from individual rats enhance hCG-stimulated production Percoll-purified vitro. Anti-LH treatment increased factor(s) over ensuing 5 48 hours. In abdominal testes made unilaterally bilaterally cryptorchid for 20 55 days, decrease associated factor(s). same inverse found 72 hours after dimethanesulphonate which had disappeared testis.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
