摘要: The Permo-Triassic Gondwana rocks in Uruguay have deficient faunal and floral characteristics, as compared with of the same age southern Brazil. They are also relatively incomplete stratigraphically. general shallowness sedimentary basin, seen by surface study proved drilling, makes hardly possible accumulation oil commercial amount. It is probable that faults fractures penetrating most formations, many diabases, both intrusive extrusive, would come into contact any sands if such had existed underground brought to surface, either along fracture planes or formational contacts, some indications existence oil, gas, salt water. This conclusion seems especially easonable when basin considered. factors conclusions apply Devonian area where Carmen sandstones overlying shales thinly covered sediments do not reveal favorable indications.
