A multi-capital approach to understanding participation in professional management education

摘要: This study explores the reasons why adult learners take part in professional management education courses, their social and cultural capital together with human economic capital. The author has responsibility for these programmes a university north of England. It is framed by multiple approach which reflects, illuminates, rationale engagement lifelong learning education. underlying research was phenomenological, as it explored direct experiences participants relation to Two methods were used sequentially, quantitative provided numerical data use questionnaires, qualitative, interviews. results interviews construct stories respondents. Fifty questionnaires completed employees fifteen undertaken, out total population eighty one. entire twenty four employers questionnaire six them interviewed. The outcomes this highlight workplace twenty-first century, impact current climate. led need acquisition new skills workers at all hierarchical levels organisations.
