摘要: Abstract The continued development of the bioeconomy is expected to transform all segments chemical industry, from bulk fine chemistry. About 10% current feedstock base consists renewable materials such as sugar, starch, cellulose, oils, and fats, but more non-food biomass resources need be exploited biobased production becomes significant in sectors. Growing demand for feedstocks based on agricultural, silvicultural, marine sources will increasingly shift global value chains fossil-rich biomass-rich countries, how quickly this happen depends very much cost-competitiveness various biomass-based versus fossil-based raw materials. high costs associated with logistics have been a key limiting factor biorefinery investments. best way integrate mid-sized biorefineries into established, large-scale infrastructure also challenge.
