The Heteroglossic World of Preschoolers' Pretend Play

摘要: This inquiry applied Bakhtin's dialogic process to the pretend play of preschool children using an interpretive approach. It used vignettes from videotaped data and theories dialogism heteroglossia provide understanding how appropriate social roles rules in use a variety 'voices' role enactment. The study also demonstrates enactment contributes development children's ideological self; relation between self social/cultural contexts, perennial issue sciences, is evident within play. When applying theory play, three facets became evident. First, appropriated assimilated others' words Second, engaged heteroglossic world as they employed different ways talking enact roles. Third, struggle authoritative voice internally persuasive discourse.
