摘要: The protective role of exogenously applied kinetin (10 μM KN, a cytokinin) against the adverse effects caused by NaCl-induced (150 mM) stress in Solanum lycopersicum was investigated. Application KN significantly enhanced growth and biomass production normally grown plants (non-stressed) also mitigated effect NaCl on stressed to considerable extent. Among examined parameters, chlorophyll carotenoid contents, photosynthetic components antioxidant system (both enzymatic non-enzymatic), osmotica accumulation, mineral uptake exhibited significant increase following application KN. Furthermore, reduced generation reactive free radical hydrogen peroxide, coupled with reduction lipid peroxidation an membrane stability. activities enzymes, glyoxylase were found be promoted exposed NaCl, further application, thereby protecting S. oxidative damage. Further strengthening supplied ascribed regulation ascorbate-glutathione cycle, phenols flavonoids them. levels proline glycine betaine increased considerably KN-treated plants, maintaining relative water content. Moreover, exogenous inhibitory K+ Ca2+ uptake, which resulted tissue Na+/K+ ratio.
