Plugging Gaps in the Iranian Type-2 Diabetes Care Protocol: Analysis of Knowledge Evidence

摘要: More than 280 million people are living with type-2 diabetes worldwide and 4 deaths occur each year due to the disease. Prevalence of among Iranian adults aged 25-64 years is estimated be about 7.7%. Insufficient care patients a higher risk developing life threatening complications in Iran have resulted their earlier onset i.e. between 45 55 age which 10-15 afore observed pattern developed world. Application standard best practice guidelines provision for may halt current hassles experienced by these patients. An extensive search was performed Pubmed, CINAHL, EMBASE, AMED Google Scholar relevant English Persian language reports program identify international protocols use conceptualizing gap analysis framework applied comparison protocol (T-2 DICP) hypothetical gold protocol. The revealed that T-2 DICP lacks recommendations hospital admission, vaccination anticoagulant therapy those who fast religious purposes. It also evident precise periodic checkups were not given DICP, instead only general advices imparted. Due inherent deficiencies identified prompt revision recommended DICP.
