摘要: Developments in sociological methodology and quantitative sociology have always been closely related to developments statistical theory, computation. The same statement applies if "methodology for social research" "quantitative re- place the more specific terms this statement. Statistical methodology, including especially battery of methods used estimate evaluate models, has had a tremendous effect on research post-war period, particularly United States. What is less well appreciated influence or generally, modern statistics. I give brief sketch linkages between meth- odology focus areas where at least scientific contexts research, brought forth new general significance practice statistics, both theoretical "applied" areas. These remarks should be taken as impressions someone who tried straddle fence statistics throughout his career, not careful history ideas.
