摘要: An octupole ordering model is studied by the mean field theory, and its relevance to phase IV of Ce x La 1- B 6 discussed. The observed lattice distortion along [111] direction interpreted in terms Γ 5 g -type ferro -quadrupole moment induced an antiferro -octupole with u symmetry. also accounts for cusp magnetization as Neel transition, softening elastic constant C 44 below temperature. However, internal magnetic due smaller than one order magnitude. Also discussed possibility a pressure antiferromagnetic octupole-ordered state.
