摘要: This chapter aims to explore the relationship between production of elements rhythmic structure English and language proficiency. Speech samples from 5 non-native speakers are first described for their target-like selected phonetic variables then assessed accuracy proficiency by 25 experienced Polish teachers English. The analysis concentrates on general accuracy/proficiency ratings effect elicitation style ratings. study shows that rhythm connected speech (‘fluency’ factors) correspond a greater extent than segmental articulation. Moreover, considerably higher those across styles more proficient, upper-intermediate speakers; in less lower-intermediate speakers, depend speech: is rated reading. results interpreted as preliminary evidence developing parallel proficiency, independently articulation which may be subject fossilisation not reflect level only matters ratings, but it also develops with experience.
