What matters for life satisfaction among the oldest-old? Evidence from China.

摘要: Objective The world population is aging rapidly and the well-being of older people great interest. Therefore, this study investigates determinants life satisfaction among oldest-old (i.e. individuals aged 80 or over) in China. Materials methods We use 2011/2012 Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey data (n = 6530) for paper. Logistic regression used to analyse effects socio-demographic, economic, health, instrumental activities daily living, family community factors on depression China. Results Our analysis confirms significance many affecting China. Factors that are correlated with include respondent’s sex, education, place residence, self-rated health status, cognitive ability (using mini mental state examination), regular physical examination, perceived relative economic access social security provisions, commercialized insurances, living arrangements, number services available (p<0.05 all these variables). Although negatively associated (β -0.068, 95%CI -.093—.043), -0.463, -.644—.282), overall effect status positive (p<0.001). This primacy as determinant oldest-old. Conclusions Majority China rated their good very good. Our findings show by far most significant predictors satisfaction. finding income oldest-old, greater influence over objective measures consistent past studies. results suggest efforts should be directed at enhancing support well service provisions improve people.
