Transcript level of AKR1C3 is down-regulated in gastric cancer

摘要: Steroid hormones have been shown to play a role in gastric carcinogenesis. Large amounts of steroid are locally produced the peripheral tissues both genders. Type 5 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, encoded by AKR1C3 gene, plays pivotal androgen and estrogen metabolism, its expression was found be deregulated different cancers. In this study we measured transcript protein levels nontumoral primary tumoral tissues, evaluated their association with some clinicopathological features cancer (GC). We decreased (p < 0.0001) = 0.0021) GC compared adjacent, apparently histopathologically normal, mucosa. Lower were observed diffuse intestinal types GC, whereas tumors multisite localization, histological type, T3, T4, G3 grades. also determined effect histone deacetylase inhibitor sodium butyrate (NaBu) on EPG 85-257 HGC-27 cell lines. that NaBu elevates lines investigated. Together, our results suggest may involved development can restored NaBu.
