摘要: The astaxanthin content of penaeids can be increased through ingestion food containing different carotenoids. Illumination and background probably affect pigmentation as well. There are some indications that also plays biological roles other than in pigmentation, such improvement growth survival. aim this study was to find out the effects light regime, algal water, dietary on body astaxanthin, subsequent survival tiger prawn Penaeus monodon post-larvae. An experiment with 2 x factorial arrangement treatments conducted, which included diets without or supplementation (80 mg astaxanthin/kg) fed post-larvae water addition microalgae (lsochrysis galbana, 3.63-8.70 μg/L) under a 24-h dark environment for 4 wk. Body concentrations decreased significantly prawns grew. Light had significant preventing reduction only during 4th wk, but both algae from 1st were no growth. Throughout experiment, reared higher dark. algae-containing clear except 3rd Dietary improved Only wk did have positive correlation concentration. results suggest it is essential maintain certain level better while growing their decreasing.
