摘要: Trypsin derived from either porcine or bovine pancreas is widely used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This industry working toward replacing animal source materials with alternatives to prevent contamination of the products mammalian viruses and human pathogens. Bovine trypsin made maize seed culminated a commercial product, TrypZean™, which possible replacement product for use cell culture viral vaccine manufacturing, as well processing therapeutic proteins. chapter describes development this plant biotechnology perspective then discusses how it being today. Possible improvements make more cost competitive are discussed.
