摘要: Since the increase in intracranial pressure produced by succinylcholine is temporally associated with intravenous administration, we investigated vitro a possible direct cerebrovascular effect of this nicotinic drug. Isometric responses were recorded from dog and guinea pig basilar artery rings suspended modified Krebs' solution at 37 degrees C. After precontracting voltage (KCl)- or receptor (5-hydroxytryptamine)-mediated agonist, cumulative concentration-relaxation curves established for: pure succinylcholine; Quelicin multidose vials containing 20 mg/ml succinylcholine, 1.8 methylparaben, 0.2 propylparaben; Anectine single-dose 1.0 methylparaben; methylparaben propylparaben alone. When required, endothelium was removed gentle mechanical rubbing response to drugs reevaluated. Both statistically significant (P less than 0.05) relaxation; more potent two. Methylparaben relaxation an additive manner completely accounted for Anectine. The vascular found be independent presence functional endothelium. Consistent induced contraction, maintained vessel tone. It concluded that pharmaceutically ubiquitous preservatives but not have vasoactive properties vitro.
