摘要: Studies of school age children who were severely malnourished in infancy have focused primarily on somatic growth and intelligence, but information about behaviour is almost completely lacking. In this study the social 71 Jamaican boys (index subjects) compared with that classmates same sex (comparisons) also nearest sibling where available. The child's his home setting was assessed through an interview parent or substitute. It found index differed significantly from their comparisons several ways. They less liked by siblings more unhappy at school. often behaved immaturely, clumsy either highly active lethargic. withdrawn, solitary unsociable. Differences between not statistically significant individual questions direction as index-comparision differences. No relationship when admitted to hospital for malnutrition later behaviour. Examination aetiological role other biological factors next step present study.
