摘要: We consider the flow-level quality of service (QoS) seen by a dynamic load rate adaptive sessions sharing bottleneck link based on fair share bandwidth allocation. This is interest both in considering wired networks supporting multimedia and wireless voice with adaptation to realize graceful degradation during congested periods. Two QoS metrics are considered: time-average instantaneous utility allocated bandwidth, transition penalties associated changes allocation flow. present simple model for adaptation, where (heterogeneous) flows can vary their rates within (different) ranges, closed-form results these perceived metrics. then prove asymptotic large capacity systems exhibiting salient features network. Finally, we provide concrete example, showing how different degrees adaptivity would under natural policy.
