摘要: Decision-support tools (DSTs) synthesize complex information to assist environmental managers in the decision-making process. Here, we review DSTs applied Baltic Sea area, investigate how well ecosystem approach is reflected them, different problems are covered, and meet needs of end users. The were evaluated based on (i) a set performance criteria, (ii) user preferences, (iii) users had been involved tool development, (iv) what experiences developers/hosts use tools. We found that frequently addressed management related eutrophication, biodiversity loss, or contaminant pollution. majority human activities, their pressures, status changes, but they seldom provided solutions for complete approach. In general, scientifically documented transparent, confidence outputs was poorly communicated. End preferences were, apart from shortcomings communicating uncertainty, accounted DSTs. Although commonly consulted during DST development phase, not usually part team. Answers indicate full potential. Deeper involvement phase could potentially increase value impact As way forward, propose streamlining specific DSTs, so can be combined holistic insight consequences actions serve better manner.
