Antihyperglycemic, hypolipidemic and antioxidant enzymes effect of Strobilanthes crispus juice in normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic male and female rats

摘要: The aim of the present study was to investigate effect Strobilanthes crispus juice on glucose, lipid profile, glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase in normal streptozotocin-induced diabetic male female albino Sprague-Dawley rats. This conducted rats fed with basal diet S. different doses 1.0, 1.5 2.0 mL k-1 b.wt. for 30 days. results showed that significant (p<0.05) decrease serum glucose levels treated (1.0, b.wt.). Cholesterol triglyceride level significantly decreased juice. Cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol reduction HDL-cholesterol increasing but not difference Glutathione activities increased In conclusion, possesses antihyperglycemic, hypolipidemic antioxidant Thus, could be alternative treatment lowering cholesterol patients future.
