摘要: Background : Campylobacter jejuni is among the most frequent causes of bacterial gastroenteritis in Europe. Over 8,000 C. multilocus sequence typing types (STs) have been described; ST-21 and ST-45 identified as all human studies so far. In contrast to other STs, ST-22 has associated with Guillain–Barre syndrome ST-677 was recently linked severe systemic infections Finland. We investigated risk factors hospitalisation individuals acquired Sweden. Methods A total 1,075 domestically infection diagnosed between November 2011 October 2012 Sweden were included this retrospective cohort study. Typing data for isolates well clinical including dates diagnosis codes obtained. Factors length by multivariable analysis. Results 289 hospitalised due (26.8%); those co-morbidities over 14 times more likely become than without (odds ratio [OR]: 14.39, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 6.84–30.26). Those underlying also longer (4.22 days vs. 2.86 days), although not statistically significant. ST-257 (OR: 2.38; CI: 1.08–5.23), but or ST-677, significantly hospitalisation. Conclusion increased a hospital stay our study whilst was. However, generally frequently previously demonstrated; requires further consideration possible targeted interventions.
