摘要: Mitochondrial dysfunction/malfunction is an important risk factor for the onset and progression of endothelial cells dysfunction, a key contributor to diabetes mellitus associated cardiovascular disease. The topics discussed here are: (i) regulatory role mitochondrial ROS in normal, healthy vascular endothelium, (ii) adverse alteration function diabetes-related (iii) endeavors towards correction malfunction dysfunctional (iv) points mitochondria-targeted interventions diabetic patients, (v) pending, incompletely understood issues that open new basic research directions may conduct innovative therapeutic strategies diabetes.
