摘要: The results of well-characterized two-site enzyme immunoassays showed that the crude leptomeninges (consisting pia matter, arachnoid and leptomeningeal vessels [LV]) from aged control brains affected by Alzheimer disease (AD) contain very high levels amyloid β-protein (Aβ). To learn about source Aβ, we carefully dissected out both (LM) LV under a dissecting microscope determined soluble Aβ in each. purity these tissues was confirmed absence or presence α-smooth muscle actin representing Western blotting. Surprisingly, amounts each sample were nearly equivalent on weight basis. In compartment controls level Aβ1-42 comparable to Aβ1-40, while AD brain Aβ1-40 predominant species LM LV. some cases careful immunocytochemical examination revealed deposits immunolabeled several monoclonal antibodies layers (most often matter). extent deposition appeared be much less than explained levels, suggesting immunocytochemically undetectable can accumulate LM. These observations indicate are large reservoir normal individuals patients.
