摘要: Extracts of Jatoba, a South American herb, when injected i.p. into mouse model experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), inhibited the aggravation clinical symptoms. At same time, production myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein Ag-specific IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha by spleen cells was markedly suppressed. After administration Jatoba there minimal evidence demyelination that is characteristic EAE model. Decreases in scores were observed extracts just before Ag. The purified active compounds are likely to be polyphenols absorbable polyvinylpolypyrrolidone. polymerized polyphenol polymers (procyanidins) at least five degrees polymerization necessary for activity. In addition, other plant materials containing such procyanidins had similar highly procyanidins, decrease both dendritic CD4(+) T cells. Although macrophages increased number, expression CD80 MHC class II molecules depressed indicating immature. results indicate suppression development resulted from an inhibition Th1 effects might associated with depression Ag-presenting capability.
