摘要: Surface features of the ependymal lining third ventricle in mature male and female monkeys have been investigated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Broad aspects ventricular morphology from three species monkey are similar regardless sex. The lateral walls heavily ciliated whereas ventral floor most parts not. Clumps cilia on so dense that underlying surface details usually obscured. There is a transition zone between wall nonciliated floor. lower part exhibit characteristic polygonal pattern upon which specializations such as microvilli, blebs polymorphous membrane protrusions superimposed. Ependyma choroid plexus also display specializations. Supraependymal cells more visible regions.
