摘要: An examination was made of the dependency polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) content on particle size distribution atmospheric suspended particulate matter. Ambient aerosols were collected in specific time periods during 1972 and 1973 using size-fractionating cascade impactors (Anderson ''Hi-Vol'' samplers) at five sites Toronto, Ont. Collected matter extracted with benzene a Soxhlet apparatus. Eight PAH's two oxygenated arenes separated by thin-layer chromatography identified analyzed absorption fluorescence spectrophotometry. The efficiency accuracy procedures involved studied. PAH-containing particulates followed approximately log-normal relationship for suburban rural sampling majority PAH associated particles below 3.0 ..mu..m diameter. Significant variations discovered between downtown-urban, urban, suburban, areas. concentration submicron increased winter months.
