摘要: We set out to develop an oviposition induction technique for captive female hawksbill turtles Eretmochelys imbricata. The infertile eggs of nine females were induced by the administration follicle-stimulating hormone, after which we investigated effects administering oxytocin on oviposition. Seven held in a stationary horizontal position retention stand, and then was administrated (0.6–0.8 units/kg body weight; 5 mL). seven retained mandatory 2 h period administration, returned holding tanks. As control, normal saline (5 mL) administered other two turtles, followed 24 h. oviducts all observed ultrasonography at administration. control experiment validated that had no effect egg Eight began ovipositing 17–43 min while one tank immediately retention. All finished within This report is first demonstrate successful sea turtles. suggest muscles may respond relatively lower doses (inducing contractions) compared land freshwater (4–40 units/kg) based existing studies.
