摘要: 1. Background to the project This paper reports on first stages of a three-year ESRC funded investigate genres assessed writing in British higher education. The aims identify characteristics proficient student writing, and similarities differences between produced different disciplines, at university study. At heart is creation corpus Academic Written English (BAWE), containing three four thousand samples assignments.
