摘要: Abstract There is some evidence that optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating using the fast component from quartz may underestimate age by ∼ 10 % at about 130 ka, or for values of D e 150 – 200 Gy . Any significant in age, if true, would be inconsistent with expected stability OSL trap. However, alternative explanation, control provided beginning marine isotope stage 5e too old, very contentious. As part our continuing investigation reliability ages older material, we describe results a deposit on Seyda River northern Russia. Quartz was extracted an organic-rich layer identified as being laid down either MIS 7.1 ( 193 ka ) 7.3 215 ka), and U-series dated to 198 ± 7 , immediately overlying fluvial sand. The resulting mean samples these sedimentary units 207 12 are also discussed relation earlier studies.
