摘要: The common-bean often faces phosphorus deficiency in soils where it is grown. Such a major limitation to yield improvement, especially as the depends upon nitrogen fixation. Screening for symbiotic fixation under was performed with 33 accessions representing diversity of 15 European market classes from Iberian Peninsula. These were inoculated withRhizobium tropici CIAT899 and grown an aerated nitrogen-free nutrient solution at deficientversus sufficient phosphorous supplies (75 vs. 250 μmol plan−1 week−1) glasshouse. A large variability N2-dependent growth P found most tolerance among late type IV Andean landraces, exception 3 early I landraces. From this screening four contrasting landraces selected their high efficiency use N nutrition, compared cultivar Linex fields reference production area over years. Peninsula expressed higher than Linex, although they showed lower nodulation. We hypothesize that identified may be useful improving when limited by available soil-P could contribute sustainable farming systems reducing farmers’ dependence on fertilizers.
