摘要: The utility of the new GOES-9 satellite 3.9 µm channel to monitor wildfires and their subsequent changes in growth intensity Alaska is examined. June, 1996 Miller’s Reach forest fire presented as a case study. Eighteen hours sequential imagery coincident initiation early stages are analyzed for hot spots. dramatic response sub-pixel spots ability access data every 15 minutes makes an effective tool support management on high latitudes at least 61°N. In Reach, was detected when it less than 200 hectares size. Changes were also observed. An automated technique decision makers which classifies without requiring image interpretation proposed.
