摘要: Abstract A wide variety of Mesozoic basaltic and alkaline igneous rocks crop out on the eastern margin Indian shield. We present new KAr isotopic age data whole rock samples mineral separates from several suites Meghalaya-Nagaland region northeast India. The ages these lie between 149-107 Ma, i.e., Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous. Published tectonic setting petrology suggest that their emplacement was controlled by major fault systems. Active mantle upwelling in an extensional regime related fragmentation indian plate Australia-Antarctica Cretaceous, appears have been main trigger for magmatic activity.
