摘要: Piscine orthoreovirus (PRV) is a ubiquitous virus in Norwegian salmon farms associated with the disease heart and skeletal muscle inflammation (HSMI). Experimental challenge has shown that replicates circulating red blood cells of Atlantic prior to infecting myocytes. The infection route from water however still unknown. related mammalian primarily infects lungs gastrointestinal (GI) tract proposed spread mainly through faecal–oral route. To investigate role salmonid GI PRV-infection, oral anal administration was compared intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection. When administered anally, PRV transferred 4 days post (dpc) levels peaked at 42 dpc, similar i.p. injected fish. detected faeces corresponding kinetics, inflammatory lesions consistent HSMI were observed 49 dpc. orally intubated group showed slower kinetics both heart, no signs HSMI. Compared routes, leakage inoculate by intubation minor restricted mid- distal intestine. These findings show an efficacious method for delivery demonstrates can establish intestine potential transmission via faeces.
