摘要: It is relatively unknown that some of the possible side effects antibiotic treatment can be transient psychotic episodes and other encephalopathies such as seizure disorders. Since these are rare events, there have not been many studies about them, nor a clear understanding underlying basis for symptoms. This phenomenon was recently brought to our attention by patient whose case history discussed here. For past few years, he has diagnosed at different times with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder psychosis, temporal lobe epilepsy, psychogenic nonepileptic seizures. He seen neurologist placed on carbamazepine, which his admittance helped him tremendously. During this same time period, psychiatrists various antipsychotic medications well. The researched medical conditions came conclusion symptoms caused large dose an "antibiotic" given first day basic training military, so called "peanut butter shot", although able convince physicians theory.
