摘要: Picky eating may be associated with higher risk of being underweight and poor growth over time or conversely, overweight. Our aim was to investigate if children identified as picky eaters showed differences in height, weight body composition from their non-picky peers. were the Avon Longitudinal Study Parents Children cohort at 3 years age. Height measured on seven occasions (age 7–17 years). Body five by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry 9–17 Participants classified thin/normal/overweight obese each age point using mass index (BMI) classifications. Data analysed adjusted multiple regression analysis mixed-design repeated measures ANOVA. There a main effect child height (and BMI lean (LMI) boys) (lower children, all p ≤ 0.044), but not percentage fat LMI girls) (all p > 0.2). The mean heights, weights BMIs consistently above 50th centiles reference charts. More than two-thirds thin any point. However, eater predictive few points. trajectories who reassuring. prevalence thinness amongst some is notable, suggesting that need specific early identification, intervention surveillance.
