摘要: Since the founding of field public administration, scholars have struggled with questions related to “publicness” organizations (Bozeman 1987). In this article, extent in organizational studies research is investigated by examining articles published most cited journals disciplines business, management, and administration. Specifically, analysis seeks determine whether generic management actually or if sector-specific remain norm. Previous researchers sought answer question using citation as a preferred method. Instead, study turns its attention samples employed articles’ authors, enabling deeper understanding current state scholarship. The findings suggest that preference for private remains, largely dependent on disciplinary journal which were published.
