摘要: A general overview of the largest South American savanna region, Cerrado Region, is presented. Using simple approaches, I analyse distribution bird species endemic to this region in order test hypothesis that areas harbouring local aggregates restricted-range endemics have remained stable during successive Quaternary climatic-vegetational changes. This seems not be generally valid for birds as exist both ‘stable’ (Central Goia´s Plateau) and remain ‘unstable’ (Araguaya Parana~ River valleys, Espinhac¸o Late Pleistocene. also discuss some aspects conservation suggest dry forests Valley, Goia´s, must considered area with highest priority creation new reserves Region.
