摘要: Researchers analyzed data from around 30000 children <5 years old in the rural Matlab Bangladesh to determine contribution of severe malnutrition child mortality. Children 6-36 months had highest rate (8.6) and 2nd percentage deaths caused by (34%). Of 139 this age group who died 79% (108) also persistent diarrhea. The mortality area covered maternal health/family planning (MCH/FP) program (5.2) was 38.8% lower than comparison areas (8.5; p<.001). 222 attributed diarrhea 115 occurred among 977 severely malnourished (rate 117.8). 107 remaining 15299 were not 7). Therefore relative risk dying stood at 17 compared 4.2 for measles (p<.001) 2.1 other infectious diseases (p=.02) 1.2 causes. attributable 49%. 60% all happened after monsoon season. mean number monthly males increased during time 2.3-4.4 3.3-10.5 females. Mortality significantly higher boys girls difference rose postmonsoon season (p<.001). Moreover times as high females 2.6 with These risks MCH/FP 1.8 (p<.05) 2.2 Yet overall (1.2) substantially (1.8). Hence did educate families stop giving preference feeding health care.
