摘要: This study investigated the Kinaesthetic Fusion Effect (KFE) that was first described by Craske and Kenny in 1981. It reported when, without vision, participants pressed a button resulted probe simultaneously touching contralateral limb at displaced location, they perceived an apparent change length. The current did not fully replicate these earlier findings. Participants perceive any reduction sagittal separation of following repeated exposure to tactile stimuli present on both arms. However, localised partial medio-lateral fusion observed, with touched positions seeming closer together. In addition, acuity found decrease progressively for distal positions upper foreshortening effect which may result from line-of-sight judgment represent feature reporting method used. A number years have elapsed since description original KFE. Although frequently cited literature, there has been no further investigation into the mechanisms action. The results are considered light more recent literature concerning intersensory integration. Future research should focus on further clarification specific conditions must be occur. Finally, this thesis will benefit future studies require report locations unseen limbs.
